Well what a week it was on The Block. I remember the odd 'cheating' stunt on previous series of The Block - one even by their very own Dan the Foreman when he was renovating the South Melbourne home. He and Dani, together with Josh and Jenna, stole their neighbours' power, but never has there been one quite as personal and nasty as this one.
You couldn't help but feel sorry for Georgia when the other competitors started attacking her. Accused of copying the design of Norsu Interior's Instagram with the styling of their whimsical little girl's bedroom, Georgia went on the defensive and then broke down. It was slightly strange that Ronnie didn't defend Georgia to the degree we would have liked, but Georgia seems to be able to hold her own.
There were definite similarities between the room and the photos of Norsu Interiors, however it would be unreasonable to think they would not resemble them slightly considering all the products were purchased from the store.
What the other contestants are failing to admit is they all use Instagram and Pinterest to find inspiration. By their own admission, there are couples on The Block who have little or no experience in renovating or styling so they need to obtain ideas from somewhere and what better place than the internet? It gives them up-to-date trends and quick access to purchase.
Unfortunately I don't think this is a riff that will disperse any time soon. When someone is accused of cheating it attacks their inner core and that is not something you can forgive overnight. We can't wait for the next instalment!
