Excitement doesn't begin to express my mood as my husband and I had the privilege of attending Nicole Jacob's VIP Open Night of The Block last night.
I have to say it was certainly a fabulous way to see The Block. Over the years I've had private viewings, attended the mass open for inspection weekend and now had the VIP OFI where we can walk around at our own leisure. This was certainly my favourite and the glass of champers was a beautiful touch!
Previous years I have found the rooms look larger on TV, however I can say this year that was not the case. Most rooms felt spacious and light and bright and we were so impressed by the quality of the builds. It was so much fun listening to all the comments of fellow Block enthusiasts, discussing which room should have won and of course all the goss of the scandals. There were many a comparison of Ronnie and Georgia's girl's room with instagram.
The informal atmosphere was wonderful allowing photos with the contestants and a chat. I couldn't help but feel they were probably well and truly over smiling but they were all good sports, especially Ronnie and Georgia who were front and centre and very much in their element.
I think having seen the houses in person, Josh and Elyse's house is hard to beat. It certainly ticks all the boxes without having any polarising features. Georgia and Ronnie's was very impressive and looks great in a magazine, but when you're trying to appeal to the masses I think some of their choices may intimidate some potential buyers. I was quite surprised given they have renovated a lot of properties with the intention to sell. The dark horse is undoubtedly Jason and Sarah. Their house is stunning and for those people who don't want to have the worry of a pool, their house is perfect. I have a feeling they will do very well on auction day.
It was exciting to see the studios which are now finished but yet to air on TV. We promise no spoilers but promise you'll be impressed!
